The HELIX Lite 5.8/12 BlueBird Tech is an ultra-lightweight, high-precision helical antenna designed for applications where weight is critical and maximum radio-link stability is required. The device operates within a wide frequency range of 4.9–6.1 GHz and transmits/receives using Right-Hand Circular Polarization (RHCP).
Technical Configuration and Advantages
1. High-Efficiency Radiator (12 Turns)
The design is based on 12 precisely calculated helical turns, providing a high gain of up to 14 dBi. This geometry creates a single-lobe, narrow-beam radiation pattern along the antenna axis, with a main-lobe width of only 35° at –3 dB (HPBW). This ensures extended operating range and isolation from background interference outside the main beam.
2. Lightweight and Mobile (Lite Concept)
The primary design focus is weight reduction. This makes the HELIX Lite 5.8/12 ideal for mobile platforms (UAVs, drone-relays), where every gram matters, while maintaining mechanical durability.
3. Stable Circular Polarization
High polarization quality (Axial Ratio < 1.5) ensures signal stability even during rapid movement, rotation, or operation in environments with significant multipath effects.
4. Versatile Mounting
Thanks to its thoughtful design and low weight, the antenna is easy to install on stationary relay systems (masts, towers) and can be quickly integrated into onboard systems of mobile platforms.
The HELIX Lite 5.8/12 combines engineering simplicity, minimal load on the carrier platform, and precise technical performance required for professional long-range systems.

FAQ
An omnidirectional antenna provides coverage “all around,” while a directional antenna focuses and amplifies the signal in a specific direction and usually offers greater range.
Refer to the operating frequency range of your system (for example, 1.2 GHz / 5.8 GHz / 750–915 MHz).
Yes, lighter antennas have less impact on autonomy and controllability.
Yes, some models are designed for drone repeaters and ground-based relay nodes.
They allow the receiving point to be placed in a better position and improve reception quality and range in compatible systems.
