Ukrainian technology company BlueBird Tech has opened its own educational exhibit at the hangar of the Kyiv Aviation Institute (KAI) as part of a strategic partnership with the university. The centerpiece of the exhibit is the Bebradron, a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
The exhibit provides students, faculty members, and visitors with an opportunity to explore modern Ukrainian defense technologies and see examples of equipment designed, manufactured, and deployed on the battlefield in Ukraine.
The company emphasizes that exposure to real-world technologies is an important element in the development of Ukraine’s future engineering and defense sectors.
“At BlueBird Tech, we believe it is important for Ukrainians to see how domestic technologies are evolving, to understand the systems used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the war against Russia, and ultimately to help scale Ukrainian innovations in the future. We recognize the tremendous potential of Ukraine’s young talent and are committed to supporting their professional development and encouraging their involvement in creating innovative technologies for Ukraine,” said Anastasiia Matveeva, Commercial Director at BlueBird Tech.
The strategic partnership between Kyiv Aviation Institute and BlueBird Tech represents an important step toward educating a new generation of Ukrainian engineers, designers, and technology developers.
Representatives of the university noted that the partnership is mutually beneficial, as the rapid growth of the defense technology sector continues to drive demand for highly qualified specialists. KAI is capable of supplying the company with candidates at all levels.
“Our university can provide the entire spectrum of specialists—from vocational and college students who can work in manufacturing to engineers, researchers, and PhD candidates. Companies that are not only expanding production but also investing heavily in research and development require highly qualified engineers specializing in aerodynamics, computer science, software engineering, target recognition, and UAV design and testing. That is why partnerships between universities and technology companies are critically important,” said Kseniia Semenova, President of Kyiv Aviation Institute.
The opening of the exhibit at KAI marks BlueBird Tech’s second project of this kind. Previously, the company donated several of its technologies to the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War in Kyiv, where visitors can also explore modern technologies that support Ukraine’s defenders.
