Ukraine Must Enter US and European Arms Markets to Finance the War — BlueBird Tech CEO
Ukraine needs to expand its defence technology exports to reduce its reliance on military assistance from international partners and secure more resources to deter Russia’s aggression. Valerii Zarubin, CEO and co-founder of BlueBird Tech, discussed this in an interview with the “Davai na chystotu” YouTube channel.
In his view, entering global markets should be the next stage in the development of Ukraine’s defence technology sector. The objective is not only to produce advanced equipment for the Ukrainian military but also to offer it to other countries and attract funding to the Ukrainian economy.
“We need to think about how we can finance this war ourselves,” Valerii Zarubin emphasises.
He notes that the outcome of the war depends not only on technology and military training but also on the availability of resources. Ukraine still depends on its partners’ decisions regarding military assistance, while policy changes or delays in deliveries can directly affect the situation on the battlefield.
Zarubin believes that Ukraine should more actively develop products and services that will be in demand on international markets, particularly in Europe and the United States. Revenue from these exports could support Ukrainian manufacturing and strengthen the country’s ability to meet its own defence needs.
According to the BlueBird Tech CEO, Ukraine should not wait for its international partners to determine the future direction of the global defence sector. Instead, the country should independently develop competitive products, proactively enter foreign markets, and build new partnerships.
