Our company is upgrading the Bandura UGV: Starlink, additional cameras, and improved control systems have been integrated
BlueBird Tech is releasing an updated version of the Bandura ground robotic system, featuring several critically important upgrades for operation on the modern battlefield.
Engineers from the Ukrainian technology company have improved the platform’s control system, making the UGV more maneuverable and stable while operating off-road. A key upgrade is the integration of Starlink to ensure communication under conditions of active enemy EW operations. It will be used in situations where traditional analog communication becomes unstable or is completely lost. As a result, the Bandura receives an additional backup communication channel, significantly increasing the system’s survivability and mission effectiveness in the most challenging frontline conditions.
At the same time, the engineers upgraded the video surveillance system. Additional cameras were installed on the platform, which can also operate via Starlink. This allows the operator to maintain a stable image during mission execution and confidently control the UGV.
“We improved the Bandura UGV in response to modern frontline challenges, working in close cooperation with Ukrainian military personnel. Today, stable communication and high-quality video are critical to the effective operation of the UGV. The Bandura is capable of operating under enemy electronic warfare and is controlled via a satellite channel. This enables it to successfully perform various missions, from logistics to strike operations,” explains Bohdan, an engineer of the Bandura UGV from BlueBird Tech.
In addition, the Bandura UGV has received reinforced body protection that shields it from small arms fire and shrapnel.
What is the Bandura UGV
The Bandura from BlueBird Tech is a ground robotic system designed for remote execution of logistics, transport, and engineering tasks in hazardous areas without involving personnel.
The system features a modular platform, an electric powertrain, and a remote control system via ELRS. Thanks to a low center of gravity, wide wheels, and independent drive on each wheel, the Bandura can efficiently move across difficult terrain, overcome obstacles, and operate in field conditions.
Technical specifications of the Bandura UGV
- Range — up to 40 km;
- maximum speed — 10 km/h;
- night camera;
- enclosure protection rating — IP56.
The company adds that the modernization of the Bandura will continue — BlueBird Tech continues to integrate new technologies to increase the platform’s autonomy, survivability, and efficiency.
