BlueBird Tech launches a rocket development division
Ukrainian technology company BlueBird Tech officially announces the launch of a rocket development division. The key focus will be on creating air defense systems capable of intercepting not only enemy UAVs, but also cruise and ballistic missiles. In the long term, this will help reduce dependence on limited supplies from partners.
The BlueBird Tech initiative directly supports Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s strategy to develop domestic surface-to-air missile systems. The company has already begun actively hiring specialists and engaging specialized engineers.
“Having a neighbor like Russia, Ukraine must be ready to repel air attacks at any moment, and to do so effectively, we must rely on our own capabilities. The systems being developed by BlueBird Tech will make life in Ukraine safer, particularly in terms of protection against Russian strikes. In addition, domestic production of air defense missiles will help reduce the cost of intercepting aerial targets compared to the systems we currently receive,” said BlueBird Tech co-founder Valerii Zarubin.
The company will operate simultaneously in several areas of missile development. In addition to defense systems, other solutions are also being developed, the details of which are currently undisclosed for security reasons.
“We at BlueBird Tech aim to change the very philosophy of rocket development. This has already happened in the drone market — they became mass and affordable precisely due to the deep strategy of Ukrainian manufacturers. Now, the main challenge lies in rethinking the cost of expensive missiles and transitioning to scalable, cost-effective production at local facilities,” explains BlueBird Tech co-founder Valerii Zarubin.
BlueBird Tech adds that Ukraine will see the results of the company’s rocket development efforts in the coming years.
