Our company presents three new antennas designed to improve drone communication

11.05.2026

BlueBird Tech announces the launch of a new HELIX Lite 5.8 antenna lineup for unmanned systems of various types. This will improve the efficiency of UAV operations.

The new antennas improve communication stability and signal transmission range in challenging frontline conditions. They are available in three configurations and are compatible with both ground platforms and stations, as well as aerial unmanned systems.

How HELIX Lite 5.8 antennas from BlueBird Tech work

The antennas operate in key frequency ranges used by military forces on the modern battlefield – 4.9–6.1 GHz.

HELIX Lite 5.8 is a directional helical antenna with right-hand circular polarization (RHCP). Its mechanism helps minimize signal loss when the drone changes position and reduces interference from signal reflections — one of the key challenges in field conditions.

“The focus of the development was to ensure stable communication for our military, even during active drone movement, rotation, and operation in environments with a high level of interference — from buildings to electronic warfare systems,” note BlueBird Tech engineers.

The new BlueBird Tech antennas enable:

  • extend communication range;
  • reduce the impact of external radio interference;
  • improve data transmission quality for the operator.

The antenna lineup is available in three different configurations:

  • HELIX Lite 5.8/12;
  • HELIX Lite 5.8/15;
  • HELIX Lite 5.8/18.

They differ in size, range, and other specifications, allowing users to select the appropriate device for specific operational needs.

A strong emphasis was also placed on antenna weight reduction. For this reason, the engineers used copper conductors in the radiating element and PETG polymer for the housing.

Where can HELIX Lite 5.8 antennas from BlueBird Tech be used

An antenna can be used:

  • on UAVs;
  • on drone repeaters;
  • on masts and towers;
  • as part of stationary communication systems.

Connection is made via a standard SMA female connector, ensuring compatibility with most modern radio systems.

Where to order HELIX Lite 5.8 antennas from BlueBird Tech

The antennas are now available for order on the official BlueBird Tech website. You can view them at the following link  https://www.blue-bird.tech/en/category/products/antenybb-en/ .
