Our Company Expands Drone Detector Frequency Range to 4.5 GHz

02.09.2026

BlueBird Tech is expanding the frequency range of the Chuyka 4.0 drone detector to 4.5 GHz. After extensive testing, the company confirmed stable signal detection within the 4–4.5 GHz range at distances up to 3 km. The actual detection range depends on transmitter power, antennas, interference, and other operating conditions.

As a result, the 3.3 GHz band of Chuyka 4.0 now covers frequencies from 2860 to 4500 MHz. This enables the detector to identify signals within the 4–4.5 GHz range, which is increasingly used by Russian Molniya strike UAVs.

“Expanding the frequency range to 4–4.5 GHz is an important upgrade for Chuyka 4.0, as Russian Molniya strike UAVs are increasingly operating within this spectrum. We can now detect these drones at distances of up to 3 km, giving users additional time to react and find a safe location,” BlueBird Tech engineers explain.

How the Chuyka 4.0 Drone Detector Works

Expanding the 3.3 GHz band is not the only improvement

 introduced in the new version of the detector. Chuyka 4.0 operates simultaneously across four frequency ranges:

  • 1080–2200 MHz;
  • 2860–4500 MHz;
  • 4860–6040 MHz;
  • 6040–8800 MHz.

The fourth frequency range of 6040–8800 MHz is one of the key differences between Chuyka 4.0 and the previous version. The device features a dedicated receiver module and a fourth antenna for this range.

Despite the increased number and width of the frequency ranges, automatic scanning remains fast. Chuyka 4.0 completes a full scanning cycle within 4–8 seconds.

Chuyka 4.0 features a built-in 5,000 mAh battery that provides up to 2 hours of operation. The package also includes an external 10,000 mAh battery pack, which offers up to 4 additional hours of runtime. With the external battery connected, total device operation reaches up to 6 hours.

The Chuyka 3.0 Drone Detector Can Be Upgraded

Owners of compatible Chuyka 3.0 versions can upgrade their devices by submitting a request through BlueBird Tech managers or via the company’s official mobile app.

The app also allows users to check whether a specific device is eligible for the upgrade and track the status of their request.
