Our Company Unveils a New Drone Detector with an Extended Frequency Range

19.10.2026

BlueBird Tech is launching a completely new version of its drone detector — the “Chuika 4.5.0”. Developed by Ukrainian engineers, the device features extended frequency coverage.

Compared with previous models, the “Chuika 4.5.0” has an updated design and new functionality, including the ability to display analogue video intercepted from FPV drones on external monitors.

“Today, the enemy is using an increasing number of frequencies to transmit video signals from FPV drones, Molniya drones, and other UAVs. What helped detect a threat yesterday may no longer be sufficient tomorrow. We stay in close contact with the military, listen to their needs, and adapt our solutions to frontline realities. That is why we expanded the frequency capabilities of the ‘Chuika 4.5.0’, enabling military personnel to detect more drone signals and understand the situation around them more quickly. Every additional signal detected is an opportunity to identify a threat earlier, gain precious seconds to respond, and save lives,” says Valerii Zarubin, CEO of BlueBird Tech.

The meaning behind the new model’s name is also significant. “Chuika 4.5.0” refers to Ukrainian military slang, in which “4.5.0” means that everything is fine, the situation is calm, and there are no threats.

“We want our military personnel always to have a ‘4.5.0’ situation — to remain safe. Our engineering team wants ‘Chuika’ to help users identify threats in time, maintain better situational awareness, and improve their chances of protecting themselves. For us, this is more than a symbolic product name; it represents the purpose behind our work,” explains Valerii Zarubin.

Specifications of the BlueBird Tech “Chuika 4.5.0” Drone Detector

The new “Chuika 4.5.0” operates across four frequency ranges: 1080–2200 MHz, 2870–4500 MHz, 4890–6040 MHz, and 6050–8800 MHz. The additional 6.05–8.8 GHz range significantly expands the device’s ability to detect signals used by FPV drones and fixed-wing UAVs on the battlefield.

The detector scans all four frequency ranges simultaneously in approximately 4–8 seconds. When the device detects a relevant signal, it alerts the user through visual and audible indicators, while the intercepted video is immediately displayed on the large screen.

One of the key features of the new version is the ability to transmit analogue video to external monitors. This means that users can not only receive a signal alert but also analyse footage from an FPV drone on a television or another external display. This function is particularly useful for command posts and headquarters.

The detection range is up to 4 km, depending on operating conditions and signal strength.

Design of the BlueBird Tech “Chuika 4.5.0”

The “Chuika 4.5.0” has a PETG plastic enclosure measuring 104 × 158 × 67 mm. The device weighs up to 940 g. Its enclosure is rated IP54 for protection against dust and splashing water, and an active cooling system is also included. The design features a MOLLE mount for attaching the device to tactical gear.

USB-C and XT60 connectors are provided for power input. The device contains a battery consisting of four 5,000 mAh cells, providing up to 4.5 hours of autonomous operation. When required, the detector can also be connected to an external 12–28 V power source.
