Functions of the “Mimic” video signal simulator by BlueBird Tech
- Testing the functionality of drone detectors.
- Simulation of FPV drone video signals across different frequency bands.
- Ability to use static or dynamic video.
- Demonstration of detection system performance in training and field conditions.
Operating principle
The device consists of a power supply and control unit, a media player, an external camera, a 3.5″ display, and six video transmitters with antennas. The simulator generates video signals across different frequency bands, allowing users to test the effectiveness of FPV drone detectors.
Power is supplied from a 230 V, 0.5 A mains connection. Optionally, the device can also be connected to a 12 V DC power source (80 W), including a car cigarette lighter socket or a standalone power supply unit.
Operating recommendations
- Use an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
- Limit continuous operating time to 180 minutes.
- Use minimum transmitter power when testing detectors.
- Perform manual adjustment of video transmitters if necessary.
- Place transmitters at least 60 cm apart.
