Our Company Launches Mass Production of Net Launchers for FPV Drone Interception
BlueBird Tech announces the launch of mass production of the “Chipa” net launcher — a compact system designed to intercept FPV drones at close range.
The company will manufacture more than 500 net launchers per month to meet the needs of the Defense Forces, journalists, volunteers, critical infrastructure operators, and civilians who require additional protection against the threat posed by unmanned aerial vehicles.
The development and refinement of the “Chipa” system took place in close cooperation with military personnel. The combat experience gained formed the basis of the product’s design, while BlueBird Tech engineers further adapted the system to real frontline requirements, making it as simple, reliable, and effective as possible in operation.
“The threat from FPV drones today affects not only military personnel. The enemy is increasingly targeting logistics, civilian infrastructure, journalists, and volunteers working near the front line. That is why we decided to scale up production of the “Chipa”. Our goal is to make this protective solution available to everyone who may face the threat of a drone attack,” representatives of BlueBird Tech stated.
How the “Chipa” Net Launcher from BlueBird Tech Works
The “Chipa” net launcher is a compact pistol-format system designed to intercept drones by deploying a specialized net.
The effective operating range is up to 25 meters. After the trigger is pulled, a pyrotechnic cartridge launches the net, which unfolds into a 3 × 3 meter area and entangles the drone’s propellers, preventing it from carrying out an attack.
Unlike conventional firearms, the net launcher does not require precise targeting of a specific point on the drone. Thanks to the net’s large deployment area, it covers a significantly larger volume of space during the drone’s approach, increasing the probability of a successful interception.
In addition, the “Chipa” does not reveal the user’s position during operation. It also minimizes the risk of secondary damage that may occur when firearms are used.
However, it should be noted that the “Chipa” net launcher from BlueBird Tech is intended as a last line of defense — when an FPV drone has already approached the target and virtually no time remains for other countermeasures.
“When an FPV drone has already entered its attack trajectory and there is virtually no time left for other actions, the final line of protection comes into play — the net launcher. “Chipa” was created specifically for such scenarios,” representatives of BlueBird Tech added.
Preparing the net launcher for use takes only a few seconds: the user simply removes the safety pin, aims, and pulls the trigger. The net deploys in just 0.2 seconds. This ease of operation is what makes the “Chipa” accessible to a wide range of users.
