BlueBird Tech Academy is launching two new courses for civilians: Stop the Bleed and Stop the Bleed Advanced. These in-depth, professional courses help participants acquire life-saving skills for the first critical moments after an injury.
Massive bleeding is one of the most common causes of death following an injury. A properly applied tourniquet, a rapid assessment of the situation, and a clear sequence of actions can make all the difference before medical professionals arrive.
BlueBird Tech Academy instructors place particular emphasis on practical skills training. During the sessions, participants do more than simply learn the procedures: they reinforce them through repeated practice, including:
“In a critical situation, having a first aid kit is not enough—you also need to know how to use it correctly, as every second counts when dealing with massive bleeding. Our goal is to ensure that people remain calm and act confidently when someone else’s life may depend on their actions. That is why the course places maximum emphasis on hands-on practice and realistic field-based scenarios”, BlueBird Tech Academy representatives said.
The Stop the Bleed course is designed for people with no prior training who want to learn how to respond correctly in a critical situation.
During the course, participants practice applying CAT and SICH tourniquets, complete practical exercises using training equipment, and learn how to respond to massive bleeding.
The course lasts four training hours and includes a theoretical module, hands-on skills practice, a coffee break, and certificate presentation.
For those with basic knowledge or anyone wishing to further develop their skills, BlueBird Tech Academy offers the Stop the Bleed Advanced course.
It includes more extensive practical training, work with several models of modern tourniquets—including CAT, SICH, SOFTT, SAM, TMT, and RMT—and emergency simulations involving various stress factors.
Participants train in conditions that closely replicate real-life emergencies, using simulated blood, noise distractions, and physical exertion. The course lasts six hours.
Training is conducted in small groups of up to 10 participants per instructor, ensuring personalized guidance and ample opportunity to practice every technique under professional supervision.
The courses are based on the international Stop the Bleed program developed by the American College of Surgeons. Participants learn up-to-date emergency response procedures used in many countries around the world.
The courses are taught by certified instructors in first aid and tactical medicine who are qualified under the STB, BLS, ITLS, and CLS programs.
After completing the course, participants will be able to independently identify the signs of massive bleeding, correctly apply tourniquets, perform wound packing and pressure dressing, assess emergencies, and act under stress and time pressure until professional medical personnel arrive.
The first course begins on August 11, 2026, in Odesa, Ukraine. In the future, BlueBird Tech Academy plans to launch training in Kyiv and expand the program for corporate clients.
The Stop the Bleed course costs UAH 1,400, while the Stop the Bleed Advanced course costs UAH 1,600. Participants must be at least 18 years old.
