“Leaving International Companies for Ukrainian Miltech”: Our CEO Valerii Zarubin on Engaging Engineers Abroad

03.10.2026

Ukrainian specialists who moved abroad after the start of the full-scale invasion are contributing to projects developed by Ukrainian defense tech companies. They include R&D specialists and professionals with strong academic backgrounds who are prepared to leave their jobs at international companies.

BlueBird Tech CEO Valerii Zarubin discussed this in an interview on the Flash Army YouTube channel.

According to Zarubin, when building its team, the company looks not only for established top-tier specialists but also for people with strong potential and a desire to develop professionally.

“A great number of Ukrainians who have moved abroad still want to contribute to Ukraine. These are people with academic expertise, including R&D specialists. Wherever they are, they are prepared to leave their well-paid jobs at international companies and join Ukrainian development projects because they care deeply about Ukraine,” Valerii Zarubin said.

The CEO also explained that the company’s engineering team is constantly evolving and that some new areas are even established specifically around exceptional specialists.
